Embeds/link previews need to be turned on to allow you to see the content of the messages sent by the bot. Otherwise, the messages will show up as empty.
How do I enable embeds on Discord on PC/Mac/website?
- Click the ⚙️ gear icon near the bottom left (shows “User Settings” when hovering over the gear)
- On the left side, scroll down to “Text & Images” and click it
- Make sure that “Show embeds and preview website links pasted into chat” is toggled on

- Swipe left to right from any channel or DM
- In the bottom right corner, tap your profile picture
- Scroll to “Text & Images” and tap on it
- Find the “Embeds and link previews” section
